a: the song Sleep by godspeed you! black emperor has a movement called "broken windows, locks of love pt iii." it was one of the first pieces of music that really moved me and i wanted to pay homage
q: what first got you into music?
a: my dad had three albums downloaded in his car-- the soundtrack to Garden State, Songs About Jane by Maroon 5, and OK Computer by Radiohead. but one day on a whim i discovered bo burnham, which led me to tally hall, then weezer, then radiohead again, then arctic monkeys and the strokes, and things snowballed from there and eventually parannoul, sonhos tomam conta, brokenteeth and other Longinus acts. those guys were the nail in the coffin, and now i nmake shoegaze in my bedroom instead of socializing. how fun.
